KNOWING WHEN TO OUTSOURCE

You may not hesitate to pay someone to clean your house or replace your car battery, but when it comes to outsourcing business tasks, the decision can become a lot trickier. Tell me, what’s holding you back right now from outsourcing things in your business that you don’t have time for? Social media management, personal assistant services, web design, etc.? Is it money? Are you scared of losing control? Maybe you’re nervous the ROI won’t be worthwhile? Well I’m here to tell you that you need to spend money, to make money! Preach!

If you’re looking into outsourcing, it’s easy to assume that all contractors come at a premium. At the same time, if they can get the job done quicker than yourself or your staff member, you might actually wind up paying less. But, how? Take this as an example:

Imagine paying your entry-level administration assistant $30 an hour to create a client database for your business. It takes them 30 hours and costs a total of $900 for the task to be completed. But what if a contractor charging $55 an hour can get it done in 15 hours, because it’s something they do all the time and are highly skilled in that area? Suddenly, you’re looking at a cost of $825, not to mention a much faster turnaround.

Hell, I’ll be the first to put my hand up and admit that I can’t do it all. By all means, I’m not an expert at everything and I’ve built relationships with a brilliant team of people who help me with tasks and projects outside my scope of expertise and capacity. I also outsource repetitive and redundant tasks I no longer need to oversee. These incredible humans are worth every single cent I spend on them! Why? Because they give me time back to focus on other areas of my business, which eventually leads to growth. No… not follower growth…real growth!

In other news, today I will also be giving you all a lil’ insight into who I am and why it’s important to get to know one another in business. I firmly believe business relationships, like any, are built on trust. How can other business owners possibly trust me if they don’t get to know me a little…the real me?! Some of my clients have even turned into lasting friendships. I still see some of them for coffee and catch ups! Not for sales or business or anything other than because I truly value their time, advice, and conversation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So about me…here goes…I’m a Valentines baby, WA born, Cairns dwelling, doggo lover, fierce protector, potty mouth, mind speaker, dream chaser, daughter, sister, fiancé, new mother, Aquarian, music enthusiast, vodka drinker, beach bum, adventure chaser, and a loyal friend. But! I’m also a business owner, an entrepreneur, hardworking, to-do-list lover, growth focused, marketing mad, over achiever, social media obsessed and a creative explorer. Yep! That about sums it up.

If I missed something you’d like to know, shoot me a message! I love connecting with new people and I’m an open book on most topics.

I’ll leave you with this thought. Outsourcing to someone and allowing them to handle your back-office operations and administrative work prevents you from investing time and energy that is needed for more important functions. So, if you’re on the fence about if you can afford to outsource, I urge you to ask yourself…can you afford not to?
