HOW TO KONMARI YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED

As we all know, social media is a 24/7 thing. And as a social media manager, I’m often expected to be online every day, all day. Yes, it’s quite often I feel the immediate need to respond to any DMs that pop up on my phone, which means most of my days (and nights) I’m glued to multiple screens. But I’m starting to become more and more aware of just how important it is to have a break and unplug. Because being burnt out is no good for anybody.

So that leads me to a post I came across the other day by @ubykotexaunz, where they mentioned that while social media is a source of inspiration, connection and fun, it’s worth looking at your habits and making some healthy adjustments. AMEN!

Their advice? We should try and apply a little Marie Kondo goodness to our feed by:

  1. Unfollowing any accounts that don’t spark joy.
  2. Muting accounts that you need a break from.
  3. Turning off your notifications.
  4. Checking your followed hashtags and unfollowing old ones.
  5. Filtering out triggering words and phrases.

So what do you say, will you KonMari your Instagram feed with me?
